This is a dilemma I have been thinking about quite a bit. For some students who are homeless or living in unsafe homes or homes with food insecurity, it is actually safer for them to be in school even with the pandemic, I think. Schools that have not reopened have the responsibility to give laptops or other wifi enabled devices to children and teens from underprivileged backgrounds either using their endowments or more likely district funding. The government should be making sure libraries are funded to open specifically for these students and that there are safe social distancing measures in place.
